MUJI
SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS
A six weeks long project focused on design concepts & iterations that build on Muji branding.
Project statement: "Muji, a Japanese manufacturer and retailer, is interested in retaining your design consultancy to research and develop design concepts for salt and pepper shakers. Muji is especially interested in the continuing shift to urban living and lifestyle. Your design proposals must be based on the basic geometric forms."
FINAL DESIGN
For my final design, I decided to incorporate both a more organic, rounded shape and a industrial, prism shape, resulting in the rounded rectangular prism shown on the right. There is a waist at the middle of the bottle, and a small rectangular hole at the top serves as the dispense hole. The product can be refilled by opening the cap at the top.
